Safety Floor Cleaning
Safety flooring is found in many businesses including: health centres, Doctors’ surgeries, dental practices, care homes, educational establishments, office spaces, industrial areas, leisure centres, veterinary clinics, kennels, and animal rescue shelters, food preparation areas like kitchens, sports facilities, beauty salons, hairdressers . . .
What is Safety Flooring?
Safety flooring is specifically engineered for high-traffic environments that demand long-lasting slip resistance and durability, such as healthcare facilities, commercial kitchens, and office spaces.
It offers a hygienic surface that is easy to maintain and withstands heavy use, all while striking a balance between functionality and design.
The slip-resistant surface of safety flooring reduces the risk of falls, trips, and tumbles.
It has anti-bacterial properties that do not allow the bacteria to harbour on the surface. As a result, it promotes a clean and healthy environment.
It is suitable for those areas that are subjected to moisture and humidity. Also, the flooring is perfect for those spaces that require excellent hygiene levels.
Safety flooring is a long-lasting. The material is durable enough for areas that have high footfall. You can avoid getting into the hassle of replacing it frequently.
It's easy to maintain since it can be mopped and wiped without any hassle. This is the very reason why public areas prefer using it.
It also has the ability to resemble the look of tiles and wood with hundreds of different designs and finishes.
Safety Flooring Cleaning Options
There are 2 main methods for cleaning Safety Floors:
Traditional cleaning method: using a Mop and Squeegee or Wet Vacuum.
Always use a neutral pH (ph7) cleaner recommended for safety floors. A higher alkaline cleaner may damage the non slip surface.
Mop the entire area and use the wet/dry vacuum to remove the dirty water.Using a more efficient mechanical route requires an oscillating floor machine. (An orbital floor scrubber).
This method of cleaning requires some expensive equipment and may not be financially viable for smaller commercial premises.
Oscillating (or orbital) floor machines use a slightly abrasive pad ranging from 300 to 450mm in diameter and gently massage a strong, but safe ph neutral cleaner into the crevices of the safety floor.
A period of between 5 and 10 minutes is given for the cleaning solution to attack and release the soiling from the flooring.
Followed by a fresh water rinse that will lift away the dirt and grime, leaving your flooring close to original condition.
Professional Safety Floor Cleaning
Don’t let dirty, unkempt floors damage the professional image of your office, factory, or business. Safety floors are commonly used in many workplaces, but maintaining them can be challenging due to their large surface areas.
As discussed above, using heavier equipment will give a thorough deep clean, but the outlay and storage of these machines is usually not a viable option especially for smaller businesses.
Our hard floor cleaning services are designed to address this issue effectively, we utilise the latest technology and specialised techniques to ensure your floors are spotless, while also extending their lifespan.
By choosing our safety floor cleaning services, you ensure your floors receive the tailored care they need to remain in optimal condition.
This not only improves the safety and cleanliness of your environment but also offers a great return on your flooring investment.
Maximise the flooring lifespan and contributing to a safer and cleaner workspace.
Depending on the use and footfall, safety flooring usually only requires a deeper clean every one to two years.
However, we do clean a few MOT and vehicle service garages, where the reception areas become very dirty (oil mainly) and require a deep clean every few months. It all depends on your business model.
Safety floors will be completely dry before we complete and leave your premises. In cold or humid weather conditions, we use cold air blowers to quickly dry the flooring - no or very little down time and your business will be back to normal very quickly.
All our machines are quite, reducing any distractions to your working day.
